Google Analytics: your choice

We would like to use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see how this site is used.

What each part does

Until you choose, none of it is loaded — there is no Google code on this page to block.

This is not about our own visit count. That one runs on our server, sets no cookie of its own, sends nothing anywhere, and stays on whichever button you press — it is described in full on the cookie page. The two answer different questions, and we would rather say so than let a refusal look like it switches off more than it does.

Strictly necessary — always on

Two cookies keep your basket and your form submissions attached to you for the length of a visit. Without them a payment cannot be completed, so there is no version of this shop in which they are optional — which is why there is no switch here for them rather than a switch that does nothing.

Google Analytics

Loaded through Google Tag Manager (container GTM-WPPWRQS4). It sets its own cookies in your browser and sends your IP address, the pages you open and basic information about your device to Google, which processes it for us as a measurement service. It is off unless you turn it on, and turning it off later stops it being loaded at all.

The data goes to our Google Analytics property G-C7ZLDWV9DC.

Questions
When does my plan start counting?

At first network registration in Asia — not at purchase. Buy as early as you like and install any time within 180 days; the clock starts when the eSIM first joins a network there.

Which networks will I be on in Asia?

The supplier lists CelcomDigi, China Unicom, Chunghwa, csl, CTM, DTAC, KDDI/au, M1, Maxis, Metfone, MobiFone, SingTel, SKTelecom, Telkomsel, TrueMove H, U Mobile, Vietnamobile and Viettel Mobile for Asia. Which of them your phone registers on depends on where you are; each plan page prints the speeds the operator publishes for that plan.

Can I buy a single day in Asia?

Yes. Day passes for Asia start from €4.99 / day. One pass covers a single day and brings a fresh full-speed allowance for that day. A day pass is priced by the day, so it is shelved apart from plans priced for a whole trip.

What happens when the daily allowance runs out?

The connection is not cut. Once the day’s full-speed allowance is used, speed is reduced until the next day — for Asia the operator states 128 Kbps and 384 Kbps, depending on the plan. Every plan page prints its own figure.

Will my usual number keep working?

Yes. A travel eSIM adds a data line; your home SIM stays in the phone for calls and messages. Turn data roaming off on the home line to avoid its charges.

Is hotspot sharing included?

The operator does not confirm hotspot sharing for these plans, so we do not promise it. Where an operator confirms it, the plan page says so.

Does my phone need to be unlocked?
